About This Game

Get five in a row on a grid. Like tic-tac-toe but deeper. Ancient Asian strategy game.

How to Play

  1. Play on a 15x15 grid (or use a Go board)
  2. First player places a black stone on any intersection
  3. Second player places a white stone
  4. Alternate turns placing one stone each
  5. Goal: get exactly 5 stones in a row (horizontal, vertical, or diagonal)
  6. Once placed, stones don't move
  7. First to complete a line of 5 wins
  8. If the board fills with no winner, it's a draw
  9. Pro rule: first player's first move must be center; restrictions on second move
