About This Game

The flagship of the GIPF Project series. Push pieces onto the board, form rows to capture.

How to Play

  1. Each player starts with 3 GIPF pieces (marked) and 12 basic pieces in reserve
  2. On your turn, push a piece onto the board from any edge point
  3. This slides all pieces in that line inward by one space
  4. When 4+ pieces of your color form a line, remove them (return to reserve)
  5. You may also capture adjacent opponent pieces in the same line removal
  6. GIPF pieces can optionally be kept on the board instead of removed
  7. You lose if: you run out of pieces to place, OR you lose all your GIPF pieces
  8. Strategy: manage your reserve while forcing your opponent to deplete theirs
