About This Game

Abstract strategy game from Patrick Rothfuss's Kingkiller Chronicle. Build a road across the board.

How to Play

  1. Play on a 5x5 grid (beginner) or larger
  2. On your first turn, place one of your opponent's flat stones anywhere
  3. On subsequent turns, either place a stone from your reserve or move a stack you control
  4. Flat stones: count for roads and can be stacked on
  5. Standing stones (walls): block movement but don't count for roads
  6. Capstone: can flatten walls and counts for roads (each player has 1)
  7. Moving: pick up a stack and drop pieces along a straight line
  8. Goal: create a 'road' — an unbroken path of your flat stones connecting opposite edges
  9. If no road is made and the board fills, most flat stones visible on top wins
