About This Game

One of the oldest known board games, combining luck and skill. Players race to move their checkers around the board and bear them off, while trying to block and hit opponents.

How to Play

  1. Each player starts with 15 checkers in set positions
  2. Roll two dice to determine moves
  3. Move checkers toward your home board (opposite direction from opponent)
  4. Each die is a separate move; can move one piece twice or two pieces once
  5. Cannot land on point with 2+ opponent checkers
  6. Landing on single opponent checker 'hits' it to the bar
  7. Checkers on bar must re-enter before other moves
  8. Once all checkers in home board, begin 'bearing off'
  9. Exact or higher roll removes checkers from board
  10. First to bear off all checkers wins
  11. Doubling cube available for gambling/stakes
